Careless Beadman to miss key race

Darren Beadman will be missing for much of October's racing after 'rolling up' an existing suspension yesterday. Beadman had been due to begin a two-day careless riding ban today, but collected another in the main feature after Able One was found to have caused trouble in the middle stages of the National Day Cup. With two more days added to his current term, Beadman will not be able to ride again until October 18, missing the ride on Irian in the Sa Sa Ladies' Purse. He joins fellow passengers Greg Cheyne, Olivier Doleuze and Vincent Ho Chak-yiu on the suspension express today, with Brett Doyle, Eddy Lai Wai-ming, Weichong Marwing, Terry Wong Chi-wai and Keith Yeung Ming-lun also queueing for seats in the coming week or so. Fortunately, he was at least able to salvage the day with a win for Caspar Fownes on Private Road in the Class Five, while United again found one too good in the sixth.
