A man with an 'appalling' criminal record was jailed for the maximum seven years for hitting another man on the head and then robbing him of HK$300. Deputy Judge Bina Chainrai wanted to jail Li Tak-ming, 62, who showed no remorse, for eight years but lowered it because she had no jurisdiction to pass a term of more than seven years in the District Court.
