Bumps to Babes on the 21st floor offers expectant and new mothers all they need to pamper themselves and their babies. The 15,000 sqft megastore carries all sorts of products for maternity, babies and children up to nine years old.

Owner Katrina Walker founded Bumps to Babes when she herself was expecting and unable to find a store that suited her needs. 'Eight years ago, I was pregnant and found that I could not find everything I wanted at one place. That was how we got this 'one-stop shop' concept.'

Expectant mothers can find a range of fashionable clothes, nursing tops and maternity underwear by American and European designers, including Bravado, at the shop. Bumps to Babes also carries the essentials, such as clothes, car seats, pushchairs, basic nursery items, food, toiletries, shoes, and bedding. The vast product range caters to children up to eight years old. Bumps to Babes also operates another outlet in Pedder Building in Central.

Safety is the most important criterion for product selection, Walker says. All products comply with European and British safety standards and requirements. 'We source our products from reliable suppliers, most of them are based in Europe. They must guarantee that their products are up to European safety standards,' she says.

Top quality items are sourced worldwide, including pushchairs from MacLaren; car seats from Britax; a range of car seats, pushchairs and babies' clothing by Mamas & Papas; and natural baby food and snacks from Baby Organix. Also available is a wide range of items from Graco, Mountain Buggy, Avent and Pampers. Bumps to Babes also stocks the learning toys made by the Early Learning Centre in Britain.

The BubbleBum, a portable, inflatable car booster seat for children aged between three and 11, is available exclusively at Bumps to Babes. The BubbleBum is lightweight and compact, and, when deflated and folded, can be easily carried in schoolbags, handbags or rucksacks, making it suitable for holidays, coach trips or car pooling. Also new is the JoeySafe Freedom Ride Five-Point Child Safety Harness for children up to 27kg.

Bumps to Babes promises that if customers find identical items locally at a lower price, the store will refund the difference. Under the store's service guarantee, if a customer wants to return an unused product in exchange for something of the same or higher value, or store credit, they can do so within 14 days of purchase with the original packaging and receipt. 'We understand that pregnant mothers usually buy things a month or two in advance,' Walker says.

In addition to its wide product range, the shop prides itself on customer service. Staff, for example, will help customers pick out the right car seat by looking at the buyer's car to ensure the perfect fit.
