French dessert specialist Sift Patisserie offers many bite-sized varieties and complements the delightful experience with Italian coffee. In a cozy and relaxed ambience, Sift serves a big selection of French pastries, cakes, cupcakes and macaroons.
'We launch new varieties and flavours every three to four weeks,' says owner Jennifer Cheung. Recently introduced items include cupcakes in green tea, chocolate hazelnut and caramel chocolate flavours.
Horizon Plaza also features a concentration of boutique wine specialists. Among them is Horizon Cellars on the 10th floor, an exclusive retailer of several brands of red and white wines from Australia and New Zealand. Among its exclusive Australian white and red wines is the pinot grigio of the Zonte's Footstep brand from South Australia, and a fine white riesling of the Stanley Lambert brand from the renowned Barossa Valley in South Australia, says owner David Roberts.
As for white wine from New Zealand, Horizon Cellars carries Gipsie Jack Marlborough sauvignon blanc. Pinot noir from Central Otago, a highly regarded region, is also available. Customers will also find a selection of dessert wines from Rutherglen, in Victoria, Australia. Best-sellers include Fine Old Tokay, Muscat and Rare Liqueur Tokay, which was given 100 points out of 100 by world-renowned wine critic Robert Parker. On the 12th floor is Limestone Wines, which specialises in eclectic wines from Australia, New Zealand and France. The company also retails its own brand wines from regions in Australia and New Zealand, and offers personalised labels for companies and events. Among the best-sellers are O:TU Marlborough sauvignon blanc and pinot noir from New Zealand. 'We can hardly keep up with the demand,' says Angela Rolston, director of Limestone Wines. 'There is a growing interest in high-end wines such as Setanta from Adelaide Hills, and the Three Hills range from Margaret River, Australia. We tailor our wine selection for any event and can advise our clients on wines for parties as well as loaning glassware and equipment.' Apart from wines, candies and desserts, Horizon Plaza houses gourmet food retailers.
One of them is Viva Italia, a warehouse outlet specialising in Italian food and drinks.
