Henderson Land scion's wife longs to bear him a son
There was a lot of baby talk at Korean cosmetics brand Sulwhasoo's launch of its charity campaign in aid of the Chi Heng Foundation. The topic would have been appropriate for a cause benefiting children, had it not ended up centring around foundation-ambassador Cathy Chui Chi-kay.
Rumours have been circulating about Chui (below) longing to have a son after giving birth to two daughters to Martin Lee Ka-shing, son of Henderson Land boss Lee Shau-kee. But Chui denied she was pregnant again.
'I really wish I had good news to share, but I'm not pregnant,' the 28-year-old said at the event in Times Square. 'I couldn't have hidden it. My face would swell and you'd see my baby bump in the first month of pregnancy.'
We reckon her mini dress and high heels were pretty solid evidence that the former TVB actress was telling the truth. But the mother of three-year-old Leanna and one-year-old Hayley couldn't hide her eagerness to add a baby boy to the family.
'Of course I want a son. It's not because my father-in-law has given me any pressure. It's because he's been so nice. I will try my best to make his wish come true.'
Even if that meant saying goodbye to her acting career, Chui seemed determined. 'Yes, I miss acting. But overexposure is not good for my children. I don't want to be an irresponsible mother. There are sacrifices, but nothing beats spending time with my children.'
