If you want a sign that retail in Hong Kong is booming again then read on. Harvey Nichols will unveil a second store at Pacific Place measuring a whopping 83,000 sq ft, slated to open in the third quarter of 2011. The boutique will also serve as the retail giant's Asian flagship and be modelled on its uber-successful London outpost, with a slick design by British-based interior designers Four IV. In addition to the usual stable of ready-to-wear brands and accessories, the store will have a watch and jewellery division and a new lifestyle and beauty concept.

With the luxury goods market finally on the rise, it's always nice to know some brands are still giving back to the community. To mark the 10th anniversary of Ralph Lauren's popular Pink Pony campaign, the brand is hosting the first-ever global Pink Pony online charity auction with all proceeds going to the fund's fight against cancer. There are more than 200 experiences up for grabs, including a weekend at Ralph Lauren's villa in Jamaica, lunch with actress Maggie Cheung Man-yuk at the brand's new Paris flagship, a shopping trip with model Du Juan and a chance for your son or daughter to star in a Ralph Lauren ad. The auction runs until October 21 online at www.charitybuzz.com/RalphLauren.
While online make sure you check out www.4x31.com, which will debut a multimedia project collaboration between New York-based designer Phillip Lim and department store Lane Crawford on October 8. It consists of four short films directed by four women, including Hong Kong's Victoria Tang and Rain Li from Beijing, with each taking viewers on an artistic journey through Paris, Beijing, New York and Hong Kong, while showcasing the Phillip Lim woman. Intrigued? Get a sneak peek at Lane Crawford IFC Mall on October 7, where Lim will make an appearance.
