A patrolling police constable used pepper spray on two young men outside Central MTR station yesterday. The two, aged 18 and 19, refused to stop for a check by the constable and injured his hand. They were arrested for attacking the officer and obstructing an on officer in the execution of his duties. The 19-year-old was sent to Queen Mary Hospital in Pok Fu Lam but refused to be treated. While pepper spray is most often used during unruly protests, a police spokesman said officers can consider using it when a person is behaving, or deemed likely to be behave, violently.
