Ole Ole (Keith Yeung Ming-lun) won on a wet-slow classified all-weather track last season and this course was downgraded from good to wet-slow before the Magpie Handicap (1,650m) - and Ole Ole did the rest. 'I don't think it was so much the wet because dirt is dirt,' said Lee. 'He is a horse who has raced well on the dirt before and the race he won last season was a Class Two, so I was confident he would be able to win in Class Three. The claim down to 123 pounds did help though - he's only a small horse so every pound counts.' In fact, Ole Ole was up six points in the ratings from his Class Two win last season, but the grade difference was a quirk of the extended ratings bands that have become so prevalent.
