On entering the home of Peter and Sally Loeliger-Braun, one thing is clear: here lives a family that loves colour. From the entrance hall of their 2,800 sq ft Peak duplex, with its metallic silver floor, to the luminous green and steel kitchen, to the boldly colourful living spaces, the house of the European-Australian couple and their four children is a riot.
The interior was designed by Jason Caroline Design, whose work Peter and Sally have admired for years in Post Magazine.
'Every time the name came up, I thought, 'Wow',' says Peter, who is described by his wife as the 'creative one'.
Sally says: 'Peter and I had pretty much set ideas and [Caroline Ma] read us like a book.'
The home has a funky and futuristic feel, which extends to the 1,050 square feet of outside space, and is unexpectedly comfortable, with the design focused on things that are clearly important to the couple: family life, an active lifestyle and, of course, colour.
The home is divided into discrete spaces. One side of the living room is exclusively red, in striking contrast to the black dining area behind it. Any fear of monochrome overload is relieved by a series of almost ceiling-high cylindrical storage cabinets, each with sliding doors painted in a vibrant hue.
