Nightmare scenarios

Halloween doesn't have to mean a hedonistic night on the town. The city's big theme parks are also hosting Halloween events, but here are three different ways to mark the festival.

Avenue of Stars

Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Tsim Sha Tsui. Sun, 8pm-10pm, free. Inquiries: 2734 8892

Ever wanted to dress up and ride a motorbike down the Avenue of Stars? Well, Halloween is the next best thing for now, as organisers have prepared a motorcycle parade incorporating fancy dress with powerful bikes. Kids and adults are welcome at the event which, set against the symphony of lights at 8pm, should impress. The avenue will be decorated for the holiday and employees will be dressing up and preparing to cause a fright.

D Deck

Discovery Bay Pier, Lantau, Sat-Sun, 2pm-10pm, free. Inquiries: 3651 2345

There's plenty of family fun to be had at Discovery Bay's D Deck, a string of restaurants on the seafront. Families can enjoy the sea views and watch the fireworks at Disneyland. Activities over the weekend include a carnival with games booths and the Haunted Pumpkin Manor.

Marco Polo Halloween Murder

Mystery Marco Polo Hotel, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, Sun, 7pm, HK$798. Inquiries: 2407 9090

Murder Mystery Hong Kong has organised a night of interactive drama which will see one of the guests killed, leaving the rest to work out who did it. Dinner is included in the price and guests are encouraged to dress up for the occasion. A prize for the best-dressed guest is up for grabs.
