Rays of light
Driven by the concept of light breaking through fog, Italian menswear brand Harmont & Blaine's latest collection is about formal lines and a dark colour palette, with mere hints of bright shades. A cotton-cashmere-blend fabric features prominently in the collection, alongside a variety of denim. The brand's classic Montgomery coats are now available in wool (HK$6,920). We particularly like the red and grey vest (below; HK$2,300), which will go nicely with the khaki twill slacks (HK$2,810), for a sophisticated but relaxed look. Harmont & Blaine is at IFC Mall, Central, tel: 2722 9671.
Inspired by artist Richard Long's landscape pictures, British brand Aquascutum takes on the new season with classic styles and timeless details. The core of the collection is outerwear, specifically the brand's classic coats, which have been updated with new cuts, fabrics and details. Particularly classy and innovative in shape is the Birley lambswool coat in charcoal (HK$9,950). For a sophisticated look, go with the beige Bladen cotton coat, with wool lining and waterproof fabrication (left; HK$8,950). Also, the brand's iconic trenchcoat is now available in wool, cashmere, silk and a cotton-blend fabric from Britain, and features a new asymmetric front fastening. English and Italian herringbone, puppytooth and tweed fabrics also feature. Aquascutum is at The Landmark, Central, tel: 2801 6890.
The X factor
Calvin Klein Underwear extends its X series from the Mark Your Spot campaign launched earlier this year with a new collection - the X Elements. Inspired by the elements - earth, air, water and fire - the collection features four styles of underwear in bold colours (right; HK$280 each). Earth is represented by contrasting dark and light green, air by baby blue and turquoise, water by royal and sky blue and fire by red and orange. Modelled by four perfectly sculpted men - actors Kellan Lutz and Mehcad Brooks, and athletes Fernando Verdasco and Hidetoshi Nakata - the collection is available at Calvin Klein Underwear, Elements, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon, tel: 2196 8696.
