A judge is expected to rule later this month on whether Nancy Kissel will face trial for the alleged murder of her husband. Lawyers completed their submissions yesterday on an application by Kissel for the proceedings to be halted.
American Kissel, a 46-year-old mother of three, allegedly killed her husband Robert, an investment banker at Merrill Lynch, in November 2003 by battering him to death.
Kissel's lawyer Edward Fitzgerald QC and prosecutor David Perry QC ended their submissions on the third day of the in-chambers hearing, which had been scheduled for five days.
Mr Justice Andrew Macrae had made an order in the Court of First Instance prohibiting the media from revealing details of the hearing until the conclusion of the case.
Macrae reserved his decision yesterday and hopes to deliver his judgment by the end of this month.
