Definitely not for those who love the Barbie doll
Linda Rick, the doll designer behind the Precious Moments and The Doll Maker collections, who produces more than 400 different dolls every year, didn't have a Barbie doll until she was 20 years old.
'My mum didn't want us to play with Barbies because they are too shapely. My first Barbie was a gift from a fellow doll designer,' said the American designer, who was in town on Tuesday to promote an exhibition of more than 1,000 Precious Moments dolls at East Point City mall, from November 13 to January 2.
'You won't see any Precious Moments dolls in a Lady Gaga outfit,' said Rick, who has been in the trade for 20 years.
'They're too sweet and pure-hearted. My dolls are for really caring, sensitive, emotional and sentimental people.'
So if you're so sensitive that you prefer talking to dolls than to other human beings, these might be for you.
