Dramatic change of heart

I've had a change of heart about drama after watching a performance at City Hall. I wouldn't have thought this was possible because I've rarely showed any interest in plays, especially local productions.

Our school's drama club puts on a few shows annually but they have failed to spark my enthusiasm. However, a group of former students from our school gave such a wonderful public performance that it totally changed my feelings about the artform.

The play by Room 400 wasn't a big-budget production, but it was a huge hit with the audience. The producers had put their heart and soul into it, and kept us entertained throughout.

Although I still haven't joined any drama clubs, I would like to watch another great play. I am hoping I would get that opportunity soon.

Thank you for your letter, Kily. It just proves the old saying 'you never know until you try'. There are always loads of plays going on in Hong Kong, and there will be even more shows in the season near the holidays.

It is also a great way to learn about culture - your own and others. Theatre gives us a glimpse into a different world and is certainly something to be treasured.
