Illegal football betting operation shut down

Police arrested a 31-year-old man in a raid on an illegal football gambling operation in Ngau Tau Kok yesterday. New Territories North police officers seized HK$13 million worth of betting slips as well as a computer and ledgers from the flat in Kan Wah House, Lok Wah North Estate. They believed the operation had been running for three months and had plied for business in bars in Tuen Mun. It was suspected the operators also took bets over the telephone or via the internet.
