The S. Nine women's wear label explores first love with its Un Premier Amour spring-summer collection. Founder and designer Susanna Ngao (centre left) debuted her edgy yet romantic new collection to a lucky few, including Secret Stylist blogger Lucy Haslewood (centre right), at the brand's trunk show at the Forest Bird boutique and cafe on Monday.

'Susanna has kept her sophisticated, sleek mix of dresses and added some floral, floaty pieces,' Haslewood said. 'I particularly liked the long Stella floral print, silk, full-length dress. As the maxi trend continues, this will be a key wardrobe item.'

Ngao said: 'I'm diverging somewhat from the classic S. Nine look of blazers, shift dresses and the A-line skirt with this collection. I think of it as the sophisticated S. Nine woman showing her girly side; the memory of a woman's first love brings youth and bitter-sweet nostalgia.'

S. Nine counts Kelly Chen Wai-lam as a fan. The singer has been seen on stage and in paparazzi shots wearing key pieces from the new collection, including the Agnes dress, an asymmetric dress in blue jersey, and the Paula dress, a one-shoulder white silk chiffon number.

'Kelly is the ultimate S. Nine woman: modern yet timelessly chic, confident and feminine,' Ngao said.

'I'd love to name a dress after her - as I have done with some of my friends who I feel embody the spirit of certain of my designs. It would have to be quite unique - but I feel that way about each of my dresses.'
