HR staff are salt of the earth

Energy
Jin Peh

Human resources (HR) professionals, who attend to the needs and requests of employees and ensure office harmony, should exhibit patience, understanding, trust and integrity - qualities represented by the earth element in Chinese astrology.

From the birth chart, as stipulated by the Chinese astrological calendar, we can determine the 'eight characters' of our life. From this, an astrologer can ascertain the predominant element flow and useful element. One whose chart has earth as the main flow would be an ideal HR professional.

Yin energy rules when it comes to human resources. In terms of fung shui, the HR department should be within the inner confines of the office and should not be visible from the entrance. It should be situated in a discreet corner to promote the flow of yin energy.

With regards to the 'Flying Stars', the eight and nine 'Mountain Stars', which represent harmony, should be located in the HR department. The sectors, in which the stars are located, can be determined from a 'Flying Star' chart that takes into account the sitting and facing directions, and the time in which the office was renovated. Be aware the stars will differ from office to office, depending on the direction it is facing and its age.

You can stimulate the earth energy by using colours such as brown, beige and yellow in soft furnishings, or by painting the walls in these colours. Don't paint walls green, which represents wood that attacks earth.
