Stylish and practical

Breitling recently launched its collection of New Superocean professional diving watches at the Aberdeen Marina Club, which was transformed into a subaquatic wonder-world to complement the theme of the launch.

Hong Kong's elite watch lovers, sophisticates and socialites were invited to join celebrity Jennifer Tse Ting-ting and the general manager of Breitling, Andy Chan, at the bash.

The unveiling ceremony was officiated with the help of Chan and Tse, followed by a models' presentation of the stylish yet practical appeal of the diving watch. Guests were invited to explore an interactive digital ocean realm where they could learn more about the entire revamped design of the New Superocean diving watch.

The New Superocean is able to withstand extreme underwater pressure down to a depth of 1,500 metres. Its decompression valve will automatically release the helium stored inside, preventing the case from exploding.

It also comes in red, yellow, blue, silver and black, offering a broad spectrum of colours to adorn the bevelled inner bezel ring to represent each of the world's great oceans.

One of the first to test the waters with the new watch is Herbert Nitsch, who is the only man to have descended to a depth of 231 metres in one breath. Guests were treated to a video of Nitsch pioneering new depths. Nitsch will be sporting the new diving watch when he makes his next attempt at 305 metres.
