Decorator claims killing was self-defence

Decorator Xu Shengqi, 43, who has pleaded not guilty to murdering his cousin and the man's wife and two daughters at their Ping Che home in July last year, told the Court of First Instance he had been trying to protect himself when he pushed his cousin and had not intended to kill them. He said Tam Shing-fai hit him and pushed him onto a table, leading him to push back in self-defence before he started stabbing him.
