A remarkable 4,200-bottle cellar, called A Magnificent Millennial Cellar, will be auctioned during the evening session of the Fine and Rare Wines sale next Tuesday. The collection focuses on the excellent 2000 and 2003 Bordeaux vintages, with all the first growths offered in substantial quantities and with pristine provenance - including a number of remarkable superlots.

Along with these red Bordeaux millennial lots, the collection includes Sauternes from 2000 and 2003, a notable selection of Gaja's Piedmont wines from the acclaimed 1997 vintage, exceptional Burgundy from 2005 and 2006, a sprinkling of champagne and a short selection of leading 1980s claret.

The afternoon session will see wines from the great vineyards of France, Germany and Portugal. Special note should be made of an outstanding offering of modern Domaine de la Romanee-Conti.

In Bonhams' second fine whiskies sale in Hong Kong, aficionados can bid for more than 250 lots comprising 400 bottles from 60 or more distinguished Scotch distilleries, such as Ardbeg, Bowmore, Dalmore, Glenury Royal, Glenlochy, Springbank, Tamnavulin, Glen Grant, Glenmorangie and Isle of Jura.

The most sought-after lots (Lots 1340 and 1341) will be the identical Ardbeg Double Barrel-Single Casks, which were distilled in April 1974 and bottled in February 2007. Another lot that will attract fervent bidding is lot 1344, a limited-edition Johnnie Walker Blue Label 200th Anniversary that comes in a custom-engraved Baccarat crystal decanter.
