Bonhams' first auction in Hong Kong, exclusively dedicated to writing instruments, takes place on November 24. The inaugural sale contains more than 80 lots of exceptional pens with a focus on Montblanc Writer's Editions, Patron of the Arts and 333 series, plus limited edition fine writing instruments by Dunhill, Namiki, Loiminchay, Dupont and Krone, among others.

To celebrate, Bonhams will offer a distinct selection of Montblanc pens, including Lot 935 Catherine II the Great Limited Edition Patron of the Arts Series fountain pen with the cap and body made from aubergine resin with rose gold plated overlay and ornaments (estimate: HK$7,800 to HK$12,000).

Two Montblanc WA Mozart Limited Edition 250 fountain pens, Lots 962 and 963, celebrate the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The 18-carat white gold instruments are finished in red and black enamel with Baroque designs (estimate: HK$194,500 to HK$272,300 each).

An item that will be highly sought after by local collectors is Lot 972, a 1997 Omas Return to the Motherland Limited Edition fountain pen, which was designed to commemorate the return of Hong Kong to Chinese sovereignty.

It features a dramatic high relief sterling silver overlap atop a red resin body (estimate: HK$4,650 to HK$6,225).
