Grounded in HK, Michelle Reis is happy to be out and about

It's odd that Michelle Reis prefers to be out and about in the spotlight when she could be sitting back and enjoying her high society life as 'Mrs Shipping Heir'. Her mother is puzzled, too.

'My mum doesn't understand why I've got even more jobs now. She doesn't want me to work,' the mother-to-be said at Swarovski's tree-lighting ceremony on Monday night at Statue Square.

Even though she's about four months' pregnant, Reis still looked great in a pair of wedge heels and a bell-shape dress that nicely concealed her baby bump.

It seems the only things growing fatter are the pay cheques she gets from the brands booking her for events.

'I never expected it, but I'm being paid almost double what I used to get for commercial jobs,' Reis said.

'They were only complaining [at photo shoots] about my [expanding] cup size. Oh, I can't wait to get back in shape again.'

Her tycoon hubby, Julian Hui Chun-hang, certainly won't be complaining about that, but he may be a little blue about having to cancel their trip to Japan for Christmas.

'My mum won't allow us to fly. In fact I haven't flown anywhere for months. So we'll be spending Christmas in Hong Kong this year.'

So don't be surprised to see her at even more Christmas celebrations.
