All things bright and beautiful the Christmas choice for Women's Forum annual party
The Peninsula hotel function room looked more like a hothouse of yuletide flowers, with the 135 attendees of the Women's Forum Christmas party all sporting their most colourful dresses, jewellery and accessories. The reason? A chance to win one of the three best-dressed titles and some great prizes.
'This is the Women's Forum's 12th annual Christmas luncheon, and each year it just gets bigger, better and more fun,' founder and MC Liz Murrihy said, referring to the more than HK$50,000 worth of prizes and gifts given out at the event on Wednesday.
Avisha Harilela (left) was bestowed with the 'most colourful' title for a vibrant wrap dress, while Jennifer Forman (centre) was the 'most glamorous' in a 1940s-style outfit. The overall 'best dressed' queen was Elise van Stolk, (right) who, Murrihy said, 'wowed the ladies with a striking red number that she dressed up to perfection with a pixie hairstyle and great jewellery and shoes'.
Van Stolk took home a HK$2,500 voucher for Love It Boutique and a diamond necklace from Carat.
'Hongkongers tend toward wearing black,' Murrihy said, 'This was our way of encouraging ladies to have fun with colours and stand out in their beauty.'
Of the tall and high-spirited host, van Stolk said: 'I met Liz 11 years ago when I first landed in Hong Kong; she wasn't a wallflower then, and she certainly isn't now.'
