Driver, bus company sued over cabbie's death

The estate administrator of a man hit and killed by a bus which ran a red light is suing the driver and the Kowloon Motor Bus Co for damages. Wong Wai-wan, the administrator of Chong Kai-man's estate, filed a writ in the High Court yesterday claiming damages for personal injuries arising from the fatal accident in Cheung Sha Wan on April 30, 2008. Chong, a taxi driver, was helping his passenger load goods into his taxi when he was knocked down. The bus driver, Wong Ton-fan, was jailed for 20 months in February last year for dangerous driving causing death for running a red light and hitting Chong.
