Salesmen accused of selling dozens of clay iPhones
A salesman accused of selling 12 iPhones made of clay for HK$66,200 pleaded not guilty yesterday to two counts of obtaining property by deception. Wong Chi-kong, 36, and co-defendant Pun Lai-ping, 36, also pleaded not guilty in Kowloon City Court to conspiracy to defraud. In April, Wong allegedly sold clay iPhones in their original boxes to three victims in Tuen Mun and Hung Hom. In May, the pair allegedly conspired to defraud Sze Siu-bun of HK$187,000 outside Times Square, Causeway Bay, by selling him 35 boxes of clay iPhones. They will face trial on January 24. Wong was remanded in custody. Pun was granted bail.
Thrills galore and collectables on offer at game show
This year's Asia Game Show, from December 24 to 27 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre, will feature the latest 3D and motion-sensing games. Exhibitor Sony Computer Entertainment will roll out 40 new games, and 1,000 visitors will be given special glasses to play on a 7-metre 3D screen. The company is in negotiations with a bulk purchase website to offer its Play Station Portable at a 40 per cent discount. Limited edition collectables include 300 crystal figures of Japanese sci-fi hero Masked Rider, priced at HK$880.
Pair held over ketamine haul
A tip-off led police to arrest a couple and seize a haul of ketamine worth HK$65,000 in Tsing Yi. Officers arrested the man and his wife, both 30, on suspicion of drug trafficking at their flat in Greenfield Garden, where the drugs and packaging equipment were confiscated.
12 arrested in vice raid
Police and immigration officers arrested 12 mainland women for breaching their conditions of stay in an anti-vice operation in Yuen Long.
Wartime bomb unearthed
Workers were evacuated from a construction site at the junction of Sai Chuen Road and Tonkin Street West in Sham Shui Po when a wartime bomb shell was discovered. It did not contain any explosives.
