Full steam ahead for Han
After making her name playing virtuous characters in television dramas, South Korean actress Han Hyo-joo now hopes to take on more challenging roles, including those involving steamy scenes.
Han (right) was in Hong Kong with actor Ji Jin-hee to promote their drama Dong Yi and to celebrate it being the highest-rated series shown on local paid television. In Dong Yi, Han plays maid Choi Suk-bin who later becomes a concubine of King Sukjong and mother of the 21st King of Joseon.
'I'd like to take on more challenging roles. I wouldn't mind playing a villain or even doing a sex scene if it is relevant to the story,' the 23-year-old said. 'But I think it will take time to polish my acting and for me to get ready for more complicated characters.'
