Maxime Guyon sprung the surprise of the season to boot home his first winner at Sha Tin at mammoth odds of 123-1, on the peculiarly named second-starter Harsh Brown for trainer Peter Ng Bik-kuen. Hopefully Guyon's translator Alexis Doussot does a better job than the owner - who tried to name his horse after his favourite breakfast but, no matter your native tongue, it was obvious to all that the Commands gelding wasn't expected to win. 'The trainer and assistant trainer were confident he would improve on his first run, and said he had been doing well in the mornings,' Guyon said through Doussot. 'I rode him during the week and he went alright, but he went much, much better today and it was a surprise to win. The horse clearly did not understand what it was all about in his first start and ran a much better race today.' Harsh Brown beat Multiproud by a length, with a further 4 1/4 lengths back to Flashing Guy.
