More than 1,000 people protested in a march staged by lawmakers from the democratic camp and various groups in Macau on the 11th anniversary of the city's handover. They marched to the government headquarters, airing grievances over tough living conditions due to rising property prices, inflation and corruption. They also called for democracy and universal suffrage for the election of the chief executive, as well as the release of activist Liu Xiaobo , who has been jailed on the mainland.
