Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association's (HKEAA) annual charity event, 'Run With Your Heart 2010', is marking its 10th anniversary. This year, it will be held at Hong Kong Sports Institute, following the venue's renovation. The charity run raises funds for the Elite Athlete Charitable Trust and Regeneration Society.
More than 70 teams from primary and secondary schools, various uniformed groups and the public have signed up to take part. Each team has a minimum of four and a maximum of 12 runners. The teams run in relay non-stop on New Year's Eve, from 4pm until midnight.
The association will award prizes to the bravest team, the master team and the most creatively dressed team.
As part of the event, former Hong Kong Team swimmer Sherry Tsai, Asian Games fencing medallist Au Sin-ying and karate star Chan Ka-man were invited to Chan's Creative School to promote the sporting spirit. They also took a group of Primary Six students to a key-chain making workshop and produced 100 key-chains for the Love Supermarket charity sale at the race.
Chief Executive Donald Tsang Yam-kuen will attend the event to support the teams. You can also head to the Hong Kong Sports Institute in Fo Tan to cheer for these caring runners on December 31.
