California-based David August has raised the accessories bar with a collection of exotic leather goods that includes the world's most expensive iPad case (US$6,900). The five-piece collection (US$37,800) includes a soft laptop attache case, toiletry case, watch holder, and a change tray; all hand-crafted from fine alligator skin and stitched by a family of artisans in Italy. Simply complicated

Bottega Veneta has partnered with luxury Swiss watchmaker Girard Perregaux to produce its first watch: the BVX. It has a simple brushed-titanium curved case and the house's signature woven crocodile strap in cigar brown, but behind the minimalist exterior is Girard Perregaux's intricately made 18-karat rose gold automatic movement.
