Hong Kong's Yip Pui-yin reached the Super Series grand finals with two wins in the women's singles group stage. The world No 10 beat Petya Nedelcheva of Bulgaria 2-0 (26-24, 21-14) yesterday in Taipei. She defeated Tine Baun of Denmark on the opening day, but lost in straight sets to Wang Yihan of China, who finished top of group B. Yip faces a daunting task in the semis today as she takes on Wang Shixian, another mainlander, who topped group A. The grand finals offer US$500,000 total prize money in all five events - the two singles and three doubles.
