Guyon looks good value as Whyte tops list

Maxime Guyon gets his chance to roll hot favourite Douglas Whyte in tonight's Happy Valley Jockey Challenge and is the clear value at the overnight quote of $6.

Guyon has two strong rides to finish the card, and while Whyte will be enormously hard to beat, his prohibitive $1.75 quote over an eight-race card makes him a poor betting proposition.

Whyte sailed home an easy winner at Sha Tin on Sunday to extend his remarkable winning streak to six of the last eight Challenges, one of which he lost on countback, but, without a stand-out winner to lean on tonight, he is at risk of being toppled.

Guyon appears most likely to do that, although if it is a low-scoring evening, apprentice Derek Leung Ka-chun could prove the dark horse at odds of $10.

The French jockey has a full book of seven to his name, including strong chances with Amityship and King Of Scots, who have both drawn the rails in the final two races with little weight on their backs.
