The Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China vice-chairman Lee Cheuk-yan was elected as its acting chairman last night, a post left vacant after the death of Szeto Wah on January 2. The alliance will elect a new chairman in February. Lee said he would seek a response from the chief executive in Legco tomorrow on whether exiled dissident Wang Dan would be allowed to enter Hong Kong for Szeto's funeral.
