League of Social Democrats lawmaker Albert Chan Wai-yip has vowed to challenge Democratic Party chairman Albert Ho Chun-yan in the district council elections in November. Chan, who has held his Tsuen Wan district council seat for more than 10 years, said he would contest Ho's seat in Lok Tsui, a Tuen Mun constituency. His decision stems from his discontent with Ho's support for the government's constitutional reform package in June. Chan said he would form an election alliance to field at least 200 candidates. Ho said Chan should consider his chance of winning, or he will only benefit the pro-government candidate.
