Tests on dead birds found in Kwun Tong

Government workers wearing protective suits collected 22 dead birds outside commercial blocks in Hung To Road, Kwun Tong, yesterday morning. The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department said the Chinese bulbuls were taken to a government laboratory for tests to see whether they were infected with bird flu. The Hong Kong Bird Watching Society suspects that the birds died after flying into the glass walls of the commercial buildings. Vice-chairman Dr Ng Cho-nam said the glass walls could appear to be clear sky to birds.
