Levy won't be imposed for MTR safety doors

Passengers will not have to pay more for work to install safety doors on MTR's East Rail line, transport minister Eva Cheng says. She said she was confident the public would not be levied for the cost of the installation, which would be done in tandem with the new Sha Tin to Central rail link. The MTR Corp was applying for funding for the link. Financing for the rail link and safety doors were separate issues, she said.
