ARCHITECTURAL firm RMJM Hong Kong is drafting a master plan for a marina club with first class leisure facilities in Shekou, Guangdong province.

The project will be constructed by mainland developers Shenzhen Golden Era Investment and Development Corp and Dong Hing Properties Development Co.

Just 20 minutes to the western edge of Shenzhen, the 2,500 sq m Shekou site is part of a reclaimed area on the norrise apartments and 117 serviced apartments with a total floor area of 80,000 sq m.

With its ideal location, the Shekou marina is expected to attract both mainland and Hong Kong investors.

The housing blocks have been laid out in such a way as to maximise the sea view of each unit. Apartment blocks away from the waterfront are to be built in taller towers and higher terraces.

The clubhouse will feature restaurants, a piano bar, multi-level karaoke and a disco.

Other amenities include a sauna, massage rooms, squash courts and indoor and outdoor swimming pools.

The three-phase work on the marina is expected to start at the end of the year.

The initial phase will involve construction of six podium levels of the clubhouse and two waterfront apartment blocks. Phase two will focus on the remaining three apartment blocks, the serviced apartments tower and VIP floors topping the clubhouse structure.

The third phase involves building marina facilities for wet berths.
