Welfare recipients will get 3.4 per cent more money from February 1, the Social Welfare Department said yesterday. The new amounts, adjusted for inflation, will apply to 1.1 million recipients of the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance Scheme, old age allowance and disability allowance. It will cost the government an additional HK$797 million per year.
