This week we test: moisturiser

No matter how oily or dry, tan or fair your skin is, you need a moisturiser to survive the city's cold, dry months.

Clinelle Intense Skin Moisturiser (HK$150/50ml)

This is good for dry skin types but maybe too rich for those with more oily skins. It's very light and works well on both face and neck. Easily absorbed - a little goes a long way.

Garnier AquaDefence Gentle Non Stop Extra-moist Essence (HK$119/50ml)

This line has fruit-water-based products and water-lily-based products. This is from the second, vitamin B-rich category. It has a great gel texture, but doesn't smell as good as the fruity version.

Missha Super Aqua Deep Hydro Cream (HK$168/50ml)

The nourishing formula contains damask rose water which helps prevent moisture loss. Leaves skin soft, but disappointingly lacking in fragrance.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel (HK$129.9/50ml)

Definitely one for oilier skins - dry and normal-skinned users won't find it nourishing enough. Light and easily absorbed, you might need to apply more than usual.

Sofina Jenne Jelly Moisturiser (HK$240/50g)

Perfect for normal to oily skin this gel is thick and slightly sticky before application, but instantly absorbed and non-greasy. Its light, pleasant fragrance wakes you up.
