Bonnie Gokson plans new made-to-order cake shop ... and she gets to eat them as well

So, style icon Bonnie Gokson sure has impeccable taste in fashion and will that sense of style extend to her baking? There's only one way to find out.
The former communications director of Chanel Asia Pacific plans to continue the tradition of good-looking pastry and cakes at her chic Central restaurant Sevva when she opens a made-to-order bakery called Ms B's Cakery. Gokson is no stranger to baking. The sweet-tooth offerings at Sevva, including its signature Marie Antoinette's Crave - a cake decorated with jewel-coloured macaroons and a puff of pink cotton candy atop - are all designed by her.
'Business for cakes has always been good and our kitchen is pretty tiny,' Gokson says of her expansion. And the new bakery's output looks quite different from the original Sevva produce. 'I want to create something new,' Gokson says. 'I've tasted a lot of cakes, with beautiful sugar art and decorations but when you taste it, the cake is just so-so. Some whipped cream I see in Hong Kong is like shaving cream.'
At her new bakery, about 15 new flavours will be created with premium ingredients, she says. They will include made-to-order cake designs and wedding cakes. Gokson is still looking for an appropriate location for her bakery and is planning to open it this spring.
