The Script

Hold on to your knickers, ladies, and get ready to swoon - the heirs to U2's Irish rock crown are on their way. The Script, a Dublin-based three-piece that peddles soothing guitar pop with an anthemic edge, might not have the guts that Bono and Co once boasted, but they could just have the selling power.

The Sony-signed trio have done well since emerging from Dublin in 2008, selling 1.8 million copies of their eponymous debut and achieving No 1 status in Britain and Ireland. Paul McCartney roped them in as a support act for some stadium shows in the United States, and they won the award for best live performance at the 2010 Meteor Ireland Music Awards.

On April 14, they'll hit the Star Hall at Kitec in Kowloon Bay, where they'll be playing the big hits from their first album - including We Cry, The Man Who Can't Be Moved, and Breakeven - and pumping the new stuff from 2010 release Science & Faith, another effort that's heavy on emotion and low on octane.

If you don't manage to catch them at Star Hall, don't fret - you've always got the chance to join them on the VH1 Best Cruise Ever, which sails to Cozumel in Mexico from April 28 to May 2. And that tells you about all you need to know about The Script.
