I used to use a hair product called Crew but I'm a bit confounded by the whole shopping thing. Can you point me in the right direction?

Mr Dapper: Yes: online. You don't have to like shopping to do it well. In fact, we find a surgical approach the best. First, research products on the company's official website, www.americancrew.com. Then, find store locations. Finally, make the purchase and get on with your life. Is that so hard? If you do all your grooming-product shopping online, through websites such as www.cdwow.com.hk, then you can save even more time.

Mr Dandy: What is it with this brand? I'm hearing it everywhere. I'm thrilled that there are so many more men's grooming products in Hong Kong these days and I love trying new things, so this is next on my list. (But you sir, however, should branch out and dare to experiment a little.) If you can face the jumble of a discount retailer, some of the best deals are at Senda (3 Leighton Road, Causeway Bay, tel: 2832 9422). It might help to use the full brand name, American Crew, on your search. I've spotted it in a few salons across town, including the Mandarin Salon (Mandarin Oriental, 5 Connaught Road, Central, tel: 2825 4800, www.mandarinoriental.com/hongkong). Other hair-styling products we like include the men's lines of Kerastase and Redken, as well as a brand with an amusingly macho name - Axe.
