3 illegal immigrants held at sea

Three illegal immigrants were arrested two nautical miles off Waglan Island after being spotted gathering sea urchins by marine police. The three men jumped into the sea and put up a struggle before being arrested and taken aboard the police vessel. Two of them were later treated at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital.

Taxi driver, 69, dies in his cab

A 69-year-old taxi driver collapsed and died at the wheel of his cab as he was about to pick up a fare at Golden Lion Garden in Chui Tin Street in Sha Tin. The person who hailed the cab raised the alarm and the driver was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Dozens flee as dryer catches fire

About 50 people were evacuated from homes near a ground-floor laundry in City One in Sha Tin when a tumble dryer burst into flames. Firefighters took 12 minutes to deal with the blaze.
