Film buffs and vodka lovers, mostly vodka cocktail lovers, were treated to an extra happy hour on Friday night at the Grey Goose's Lovers of Film Series kick-off event.

To plug its luxury vodka, the long-time sponsor of various international film festivals booked model Amanda Strang (below) and film critic Kei To for a private screening with VIPs of the seductive musical film Burlesque at the Broadway Palace IFC cinema and a pre-screening cocktail in the nearby G Bar.

The unlikely model and academic combination were in fact both pretty relevant to the event.

Strang, who is opening her own patisserie in May, handpicked candy-coloured macaroons for the event to pair with Grey Goose's specially-designed apple martini, a sweet, fruity cocktail garnished with cinnamon and sugar.

The more movie-related Kei To, wore a geeky Mickey Mouse pullover, gave an introduction to the film before the screening and moderated a sharing session afterwards.

Happy hour is likely to continue as guests went home with bottles of complimentary Grey Goose vodka and a Burlesque sound track CD to groove to.
