Kerry Logistics, part of the Kuok Group, has acquired the Nine to Five catering group from Jardine Matheson in a move that will expand its food trading business. Set up in 1991, Nine to Five serves more than 10,000 meals a day to primary and secondary pupils. It has also run student canteens at Chinese and Baptist universities and the canteen at the Airport Freight Forwarding Centre. Kerry Logistics, which entered the food service market in 2006 after acquiring Wah Cheong, said the Nine to Five deal included a 1,719 square metre food production centre in Tai Po where meals are prepared.
