Fewer stray dogs dumped

Despite a lawmaker's concerns over dumping of pets on outlying islands, Secretary for Food and Health Dr York Chow Yat-ngok said there was no indication this problem was more serious in Islands District than elsewhere. Chow (pictured) said fewer stray dogs were caught in the district - 228 last year compared with 291 in 2008. Chow said publicity with animal organisations on pet care would be stepped up.
