Teenager Lau grabs early lead

Tiana Lau Gwun-bo celebrated her inclusion in the Hong Kong team for next month's Queen Sirikit Cup in India by stealing the show on day one of the Ladies Close Amateur Championship at Discovery Bay Golf Club yesterday. Lau, 14, who won the Hong Kong Schools Championship at Fanling last week, scored an impressive one-under-par 71 to open up a four-stroke lead. Isabella Leung (75) lies in second spot, while defending champion Tiffany Chan Tsz-ching had to settle for a 76 to end the round in a share of third alongside Mimi Ho.
