Family friend held over assault

Police arrested a 32-year-old on suspicion of indecently assaulting an 11-year-old girl. The man, who is a friend of the girl's parents, was released on bail and ordered to report back to police next month.

Teens mug cyclist outside mall

Police were looking for four teenagers after a 22-year-old cyclist was assaulted and robbed of a mobile phone and wallet containing HK$4,700 in Tseung Kwan O. The attack took place at about 5am outside Maritime Bay Shopping Mall in Man Kuk Lane.

200 evacuated as TV burns in flat

About 200 residents of Lai Wan Building in Shau Kei Wan Road, Sai Wan Ho, were evacuated after a television burst into flames in a ninth-floor flat. A couple and their year-old son were treated for smoke inhalation.

Cab passenger attacks officer

A policeman was attacked by a drunk woman while helping a taxi driver wake her after she fell asleep in the back of a cab in Wai Kek Street, Kwai Chung. The officer was treated for facial injuries at Princess Margaret Hospital.

Two injured as taxis collide

A taxi driver and his passenger were injured in a collision involving another taxi in Kwung Tong. The accident occurred at the junction of Hoi Yuen and Kwun Tong roads.
