Classic elegance is back in fashion with feminine silhouettes from the '50s and '60s dominating catwalks. Mad Men has a lot to answer for. This season, however, we see the shape become less retro-kitsch and more sleek and elegant in loads of white. Belted and nipped at the waist, with either pencil or full skirts (as seen at Chlo?) the trend is likely to stay. Dolce & Gabbana's white hot Sicilian-inspired collection gave us plenty of ladylike options that hug the figure, even in crotchet. Proenza Schouler, always popular with the urban socialite, comes with muted elegance, whereas Yves Saint Laurent adds a wow factor with a slinky neckline and back. Victoria Beckham surprised many with her chic dresses, while Karl Lagerfeld's interpretation on Chanel's classics is divine.
