Brights almost always return for spring, but this year's hues are more daring, ranging from neons and acids to soft pastels and rich oriental colours. YSL-inspired colour block combinations and clashes add a touch of sophistication to wearing bold shades. Reds and pinks (honeysuckle especially) are big news, but buttercup yellow, citrusy oranges and regal purples also claimed their stake. Dior's floor-length dresses brought back old-school cocktail glamour. Lanvin's lush, fiery palette turned up the heat, as did outfits by Loewe and Antonio Berardi while Versace dazzled with a Roman-inspired collection.
